It is a brave step to begin therapy. Dedicating the time, energy, and resources to tend to yourself is both a big commitment and challenging work. Therapy can be a space that helps us create change and generate insight into our feelings, behaviors, and relationships. I believe deeply in the importance of creating a safe space while also building a strong therapeutic alliance. The healing/growth process is not always the most comfortable but there is nothing more empowering than taking our power back. If you are ready to begin taking good care of yourself, I can help you along that path.
My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, realistic, and empathetic. I have had the privilege of serving children, teens, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds. I specialize in trauma therapy in children and adults and enjoy an experiential approach to healing. I have experience working with domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking survivors. I am trained as a child and adolescent trauma professional, and I am also skilled in assisting in an array of clinical issues including chronic stress and anxiety, trauma, ADHD, depression, mood disorders, various personality disorders, Adoption concerns (Birthparents, Adoptive Parents, and Adoptees), esteem, and self-worth, along with academic and employment challenges. I welcome LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities into my practice.
In our sessions, you can expect to see several therapy modalities utilized including Adlerian Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and narrative therapy.

Our individual counseling services are designed to help you overcome personal challenges and achieve your goals. Our licensed counselors provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insights into your behavior, and develop strategies for positive change.

Being a parent is one of the most rewarding and challenging jobs, which makes it hard to always feel confident in what you are doing and feeling. We are here to help you navigate parenting struggles by providing parent training, as well as a tailored parenting workshop. There is no rule book for parenting, but there are ways to feel more understood and supported. Together, we will help you learn how to communicate with, discipline, and support your child or teen.

At Play It Forward Counseling, we help children express their feelings in ways that feel natural and comfortable for them. Play is children's natural language and a great tool for children to share their emotions as they process their experiences. Our play therapists are dedicated to helping children feel safe and secure while developing healthy coping skills.
Play therapy can include music, art therapy, sand tray therapy, and other activities. We make it fun and inviting for children to explore their emotions and feel better. We use play therapy to help children build better relationships, find solutions, and create a more balanced life.
If your child has gone through a traumatic experience, struggling in school, or appears to need extra support —play therapy can help them work through their difficult feelings and experiences. We understand how children think, feel, and process emotions differently than adults. Play therapy is an effective way for children to heal from trauma, build self-esteem, and develop better communication skills

We believe healing can happen through connection—and sometimes that connection starts with a controller. Video game therapy creates a fun, low-pressure space where children and teens can build trust, strengthen coping skills, practice emotional regulation, improve social skills, and work through challenges in a way that feels natural and engaging to them.

Play it Forward Counseling provides individual counseling and art therapy to children, adults and adolescents. We address a number of mental health issues, including: anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, developmental delays, relationship issues, trauma, grief & loss, self-esteem, and life transitions. Individual art therapy uses the creative process to help clients tackle issues. Art making during session offers a safe way of accessing feelings that may be difficult to clearly articulate. Anyone seeking a deeper purpose, enhanced creativity, or better understanding and regulation of emotions can benefit. The setting fosters an atmosphere for exploration, as we support and collaborate with each client to achieve goals.

Sometimes feelings are hard to put into words. Sand tray therapy offers a hands-on, creative way for children, teens, and even adults to explore emotions, experiences, and challenges through symbolic play and storytelling. Using miniatures and sand, clients can create scenes that help express thoughts and feelings in a safe, supportive environment. Sand tray therapy can support emotional regulation, trauma processing, self-esteem, problem-solving, grief, anxiety, and life transitions while fostering healing, insight, and growth.

Healing begins in spaces where you feel safe to be yourself. At Play It Forward Counseling, we provide compassionate, affirming support for LGBTQIA+ individuals and families. Whether navigating identity, relationships, family concerns, stress, or life transitions, we strive to create a welcoming environment where every person feels respected, supported, and empowered.
